Good day, Became PR in December 2007 PR expired sometimes in 2011. Son is a Canadian citizen. Planning to apply for PRTD. Have visited Canada twice during the validity of the PR and tried for job but did not succeed. Have been in comfortable employment outside Canada so far. I am now 70 and my wife is 66 and would like to join our son. what are the options available for us. Kindly advise.

You can apply for a PRTD, but there is a good chance that it might be rejected.

Coming here on a Visitor visa or your son sponsoring you on a super visa is another option.
Regular sponsorship for parents and grandparents for 2019 is already closed. Anyway that's very hard to get and the quota is very less for parent sponsorship.

4. Regular parent sponsorship ( very hard to get, with limited quota, and 2019 already closed)
Honestly, you will become a costly burden to Canadian society at your old age. I am sure you have succinctly earned all these years and stashed away every dime you earned in unknown and inaccessible caves, so to say. Why is it that you want to create this undue burden to Canada at this age? Do you not have or never had any conscience?
I ask of you to invite your precious son to visit you, wherever you are. Or you visit US somehow or other and he can come across border and entertain you to your heart's content. Please use your emotional brain and try to do common good at this old miserable age. Such good deed may actually give you plenty of satisfaction. Good Luck.
Yes, Canada mostly needs young educated immigrants to do labour, clerical and retail jobs for them.
In 2007 and 2011, when you were younger you didn't like Canada. What makes you think you are going to like Canada now in
2019?
Come here as a visitor that too only in summer, once in a while to meet your son.
Besides that, don't bother with Canada, PR etc - you will live a horrible and miserable life over here, especially in this age. Your social life will be a big fat ZERO over here, plus miserable weather and transport/mobility issues.
Canada won't even give you OAS and GIS till you complete at least 10 years over here.
So either you will have to exhaust your Indian savings over here or look at your son's face for money.
Just stay in India with your head high and with self respect and dignity. And if possible ask your son to return to the motherland.
OP if you are financially comfortable; can live independently on your own, just the two of you, not taxing your son even though he may sponsor you say in 2020. I don't think you should look for work/income at this stage from employment.
To be happy, you must live independently, not share accomodation. So you should afford atleast a Condo unit of your own, if possible have own a car too. All out of your own resources.
Even then, as has been advised, Social life can be miserable. In a condo you may be able to make some friends overtime. If you have grandchildren close-by, that will be a source of satisfaction.
