depends on which way we talk actually !

::.. then the only difference between G1, G2 and G

Canadian way : imp. to learn step by step and become a fully licenced driver

Desi way: the only difference is the amount the money they charge varies with each of them. In other ways these are all the steps to mint money from immigrants and residents..LOL

Cheers!

Hi all,

Can some one explain about the difference between G , G1 and G2 licenses.

I have dubai (U.A.E) driving license and can I get my license transfered in Canada? What is the procedure to get the license in canada? What are the precautions to be taken as a new license holder?

Thanks and regards

once you get your full "G" licence you can drink alcohol and drive!

... can't do that with anything less than a "G".

No you can't ..... with a legit level of alcohol at 0.08%, you can only "smell"alcohol and drive. Also impaired driving can lead to charges under criminal code of Canada apart from Highway Traffic Act.

I think it totally depends on an individual whether he can or can't.......

But yes, he may not drive with alcahol above the limit!

Yes, you can submit your Indian licensed experience anytime and get it convert into G2 or G.

Also, sometime some location don't recognize your documents... try different location , its all depends on agent. good place to go is Mississauga or Brampton they are familiar with Indian documents.

Note: for foreign driving licensed person. technically you are suppose to drive 60 days on Indian licensed . BUT BE AWARE the time you transfer to Canadian licensed Your Indian licensed become Not Valid anymore. Which means you cant drive till you clear the Canadian driving condition.
