Hello,
I would like to know something on this important aspect.
A family in our Apartment Building recently moved back to India with bag and baggage. They were here for 4 months only.
During their stay, the application for Child Tax Benefit was filed for their only child.
I would like to know that whether the family is eligible to claim the same, now since they have already moved back to India ?
Kindly enlighten.

What makes you think that they have gone back to India permanently? Have they renounced their PR? If not, then then can stay anywhere and as per their PR condition they have to remain in Canada for 2 out of 5 years and they can come back subject to their PR conditions. And, so long they have their PR, I suppose they are entitled to the benefits.

Can anyone suggest a nearest CCRA office in Brampton/Mississauga wherein one can visit and submit documents related to Canada Child Tax Benefit.
I searched the website but was unable to locate one.

Hi Jashan,
The continuation of Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) is subject to filing of income tax returns every year. The CCTB status is reviewed every July.
The family in question may receive the payments till June next year and when the income tax return for the year 2004 is not filed, the CCTB payments would stop.
