About Montreal

If you land here directly and you or your spouse hadn't studied in Canada your kid suppose to join French school .Private English medium schools are expensive.Daycare is damn cheap comparing GTA

4) Min. Room rent as a new comer and temp.accomdation facility.
Depend on area but less expensive than GTA.Could get 3 and half apartment within $450-500

5) Public Transportation system,
Excellent (and cheaper than GTA)..unless you are not staying far from downtown/city

6) Throughout year the Weather situation
May till August -Summer enjoy!
October - November - Cold
Dec - Feb - Severe cold (Don't worry u will get used to it )



Most important thing is knowing French to get a job
Otherwise Montreal is a nice place to settle down

I have rarely made any decision based on this factor. Most of my friends here are desis and none of them bother about this factor either.
There are plenty of desi stores all over the city where you can obtain articles you are used to(incase thats the reason for this question)

Anyway the biggest desi population is in India <hint>


Also I dont think anybody ever gets used to the cold(december-march/april)
