I would like to know how can we be together. If I go to USA on a tourist visa and stay there for 6 mths or more, OR even if I overstay, will this effect my status in Canada. I plan to stay with him untl he gets his citizenship, which would be another 1.5 yrs.

- IT DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR IMMIGRANT STATUS IN CANDA

1. If I get deported, will I be deported back to Canada OR India.

- CANADA. IF YOU ARE SENT TO INDIA, YOU CAN COME BACK TO CANADA

2. I have also applied for the immigration of my parents in canada, their ACCEPTANCE LETTER has come, so if now go on a tourist visa,get married to him there and overstay, will this effect their application.

- NO BUT BEAR IN MIND, IF THE APPLICATION IS REFUSED FOR WHATEVER REASON AND YOU HAVE TO APPEAL, YOU'LL HAVE TO LEAVE USA ANYWAY. WHY CAN'T YOU APPLY FOR MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA TO USA AND TRAVEL BACK & FORTH INSTEAD OF JEOPARDIZING EVERYTHING.

I am confused. I love him and so does he, please help. He can move to CANADA , but thats a last option.

- THE LAST OPTION IS THE BEST OPTION. IF HE LOVES YOU AS MUCH AS YOU DO, HE SHOULD BE READY TO MOVE TO CANADA INSTEAD OF YOU GOING THROUGH ALL THIS HEAD-ACHE. BUT I'M A LAWYER, NOT A RELATIONSHIP ADVISER/EXPERT.

I dont wanna lose him.

I would repeat Massood's advice. If he loves you as much as you love him, he should be willing to wait a few months or move to Canada. Especially for something as important as your parents application which is only a few months away.

Having said that, its your decision to make. Good luck.

Okay, what you are saying is making sense.
What happens after getting a multiple VISA, I go and live in USA and kep doing to and fro for couple of months until my parents application gets approved.
In the meantime, my brother he can tke care o my bills and this way we can also show the government that I have certain income and bills are being paid on time.

Its all about showing my Income in Canada.
I am in Calgary, AB...do you guys know any kind of idea/business which mayb I can open on my name, and my brother takes care of it, while I am away to USA.

What do you think???

Please advise.

Dear Garvo Gujrati,

Like you mentioned earlier :-

///////////////////////////////////////////////////
You should also show them that you are not planning to leave Canada forever - somehow - may be you can buy an apartment or something that is permenant.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////

Referring to the above statement, if I dont buy an apartment but rent it out, on my name and my brother keeps paying the rent.
Is that enough for me to show the income or not??? or doI have to by the apartment.

Please advice.

Hi Summam,
How long have you stayed in Canada as a P.R ?
If its more than 3 years then why dont you apply for your citizenship and then move down there ! If you get a citizenship in Canada you do not need to get a H1B visa to work there.. IT would suffice for you to get a NAFTA visa (or whatever that is called) and then enter the US (legally) for work , while at the same time keeping your Canadian citizenship.

Not to make light of Summans situation but should we start an agony aunt section? We seem to have enough volunteers to help with advise on matters of the heart too :D
