Hi Desis,

Dont you still believe that Canadian Govt. is playing dirty game in the name of immigration?

Sort of cover up to boost economy.......recall my earlier calculation 200,000 heads x CAD 10,000 per year = ???????? billions.........pouring into economy......

Once $$$$is poured ....who cares whether they get job or wait for food ticket to survive?????

Many believe its better than India.........Manyways it is......

If Biomed didn't understand the numbers, he shouldn't have posted them here, sensationalizing them with the intention of degrading Toronto.

I do understand and standby what I have posted. My English may not be that good but I am sure it is good enough for SIMPLE/NORMAL people to understand.:D

Thanks and regards.

So how do you support your contention that 10% of all Canadians are homeless?

200,000 immigrants X CAD 10,000 per year = Canadian $2 billion.

Canadian economy = US $950 billion (translates to C$ 1.235 trillion). Immigrant inward remittances by way of settlement funds amount to less than 0.16%!

The money that new immigrants bring in, is just a fraction of the economy. Far more important to the economy that new immigrants enter into the workforce and earn money......

200,000 immigrants X CAD 10,000 is also an opportunistic number. C$10k - C$15k is the settlement fund per family coming in. A family may have 3 -4 members, besides, the number immigrants also includes refugees, etc.

No dirty games being played here!

A new img wouldnt sit after paying $10000. He will rent an apt or buy a house to live $12000/y , which will bust the realestate economy. He will get canadian licence of G1,G2,G....(atlist $1000)which will again bust the economy. He wouldnt stop after this..he will buy a car....$20,000now automobile economy....then have to buy auto insurance.....(atlist $3000-4000/y) he will defenately east some thing and buy someting to live...($5000) he will do a job and pay tax.....($3000/y)
EVERY single action done by him will contribute the canadian ecomomy!!!
its not just $10,000

ADD and * 200,000=$$$$$$$$$$$$

The new immigrant does not "pay" $10k and then start living life. He brings in $10k into the economy from outside which is intended to pay for his initial expenses, after that contributes his skills to the economy, earns money for that and then pays his way.

To suggest that the economy here depends on inward remittances from immigrants is inaccurate. It is true however, that the economy depends on the skills of immigrants........after all that is the reason that immigrants are being invited into the country.

I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that Canada needs immigrants for its own development. Canada is inviting immigrants not because Canada is a great country that's trying to spread goodwill on the planet (it does this in other ways), Canada is inviting immigrants because Canada needs immigrants. A recent census itself went on to show this. Immigrants help keep the economy agile and moving.

At the same time, the country is offering immigrants a new life. Immigrants who land here and ask for social assistance the second day won't do any good, the ones that satisfy the purpose of keeping the economy agile are the ones that work hard, make money and pay taxes.

Its a mutually beneficial relationship. I don't see a dirty game.

Its a different story that it does not work out to the benefit of ALL immigrants. Yes, there's some issues there that need to be fixed. At the very least, we need to inform people on facts that Canada isn't a bed of roses. And do this while acknowledging the other fact that there are also a lot of immigrants here who are doing quite ok and are an integral component of Canada's economy.
