I am planning to move to London, ON and would like to get in touch with any Indian or Pakistanis living there, just to gather some information and ask some down to earth general questions that a new immigrant generally asks.
Please reply if you are from London or recommend to someone there and do not to worry I wont burden you / them in anyway other than ask for direction or guidance.
Thank you.
I am originally from London. i was born and grew up there. it is a sleepy town, called 'The Forest City' because it is so green and there are so many parks. the main employers are (1) Labatts, (2) the Gov't, (3) London Life and (4) the university.
there are also some auto factories nearby that employ quite a few people.
what would you like to know?
here's a gov't website for jobs:

you can check by city too.
A little known fact, there is a very large call centre in London; it is a company called SYKES CANADA and it is a call center for PRUDENTIAL and about 5 other insurance companies and about 10 car companies, among them, Nissan, Lexus, Toyota, etc.
It is now offering legal and medical services by phone. It had about 100 operators when i worked there in 1995. The starting wage is C$10/hour.
Not extremely attractive, but you can make a career there; the managers and supervisors are well renumerated, i'm sure, and there are all sorts of jobs for admin and esp. statistics majors.
Check it out. It is on 248 Pall Mall St.
It used to be called Oracle but changed its name for obvious legal reasons
Hi,
I moved to Brampton from London, England back in 2002, and now due to my hubby's job, we are having to relocate to London, Ontario.
We had just moved into our beautiful home and now are having to move all over again! Anyway, we have been to London a couple of times to see some houses and actually saw a couple that we liked. We just need to sell our place in Brampton now and we're set to make the move. I'm quite excited about it as London seems like a great place.
It's been hard for me moving to Canada as i didn't know anyone and it's been hard trying to meet other girls my age and making friends of my own...soo...if there is anyone out there who would like to get in touch with a new-to-London young indian couple, please do! Even though my hubby has lived in Brampton for most of his life, he still doesn't know London too well.
I am also going to have to leave my job in Brampton and find something along the lines of Sales & Marketing or Administration in London...any suggestions of where to look???
I'd appreciate any useful info anyone can give me!
Also, are there any other Brits living Canada out there or am I the only one???!!!

Are you working hard, or hardly working?
I attend The University of Western Ontario.
Second year student.
Well you could apply for a job at the University.
The university is one of the biggest employers in London.
Cheers mate!!
Thanks for the tip Bandhan
What are you studying at Western?
I did a degree in Business and Information Technology at uni in the UK, and it was really hard for me to get a decent job here in Canada when i first moved here. But I now have a some good sales and marketing experience under my belt.
I'll check out what the university has to offer.
So what are the cool places to go to in London on a Fri/Sat night???
