Nothing more to add!

How board moves? It is difficult to answer. Yes the number of registrations are increasing, but the active members are not increasing at the similar rate.

I think the purpose of this board is to educate and help somebody in need. While most of us (who are contributing here) like to help others there are 99 percent or more, just want to get information from canadiandesi and once their purpose is served they just go back to their routine life. However they are coming back regularly to check things when needed - like addresses of temples, job listings and classifieds. But they are passive users.

Almost all parts of site are open to public. You need to register only when you need to post a message on board. The second place is to put a classified ad and to read a classified ad. Looking at such openness of the board the numbers of 11,000 registered users is amazing. At any give point of time you will see members v/s guests ratio of 40:60 to 25:75. It means when say 20 users and 40 guests are online it means we have only 20 registered users and 40 non-registered users accessing the site.

The database logs information with time when needed. If it is useful we can dig into the database and find the status, but I don't think it is worth at this time.

The number of hits are increasing at the rate of 10-20% per month.

The suggestion of "About this Board" is good and I will put up something soon.

ABOVE STORY AS NARRATED BY CHANDRESH
Chandresh

above story is a success story. It has a gradual growth in a span of 2 - 3 year. Why not include it in success story section. Story which show overnight success are unbelievable, although they may be true but common person cannot relate to them.

Yes definitely a success story in true form - the vision of one and dedication of others in combined effort. Infact, we are seriously thinking of taking a further leap, and if that comes thru, it will be a grand success!

I could have almost bet my last penny that this question would come from you!

It is still in discussion stage and I would not like to put it in writing now - but I can only say that it relates to providing physical services to new and existing immigrants on a voluntary basis, which will mean getting a pool of volunteers to help others with no expectation of compensation in monetary form.

I wish any one registering shd read this as the first thread so as to realise the time n effort ppl have put on this board as a self less service in sharing expereinces and providing information as a guiding light 2 others .

Not entirely self less though.............. Over the past 18 months I have been kind of addicted 2 the board and derive intellectual satisfaction besides virtually meeting other members regularly.

Thanks Garvo , BL , Chandresh and other moderators for sharing in the info and bringing up this site 2 where it stands 2day .

Manasvi .
