There are some very good threads abt Studdent work permits (while being enrolled in a school). Of course, this does not apply to schools located in the 3 big cities (Toronto, Vancouver and Mtl).. For some information on Schools in Saskatchewan...pls check out this thread

Hello Dan ,
I am not sure where you are .. but in north america .. a lot of stuff happens by choice driven by motive and passion not by industry and demand like it happens in india . Many desis back home .. keep checking average salaries of pass outs of universities .. is the program good or not . As far as i am concerned ... Canada's education is one of the best in the world ( not being biased ) . It is so well structured ( PEngg , CICA etc ) that students at every university get to do the same course more or less .
So a question like \"is university of windsor's MBA program crappy\" is obsolete . I mean we may even have guys in the forum who might have landed good jobs from U of Windsor's MBA . What does that mean ...
For one ... any university anywhere in the world which does spot recruitments is in desperation ( if you think otherwise let me know ) . So i ask you what is your interest .. and what is it that you want to do in life . You know of the great software rush ... in the early 90's . So people started doing courses for the sake of it ... i for one believe it should be a case of interest . If it so ... no matter how bad the universities and programs are you are bound to make the cut .
When you ask me about MBA .. why not look at the better ones and keep trying for them and then land in them or the ones in the ranks below them . Starting from University of Windsor .. where would you go ..... so its better to know what sector you plan to work in ... see how it is doing in canada and then make a move .. than just look at ranks of universities and appealing programs and join them ...
Thatz my 2 cents on it .

haramiyonkaharam

i just asked for an opinion on the content and generally the program...not about what the differences are between canada and india.

so please stop giving philosophical advice...you indeed do ramble on and on

Thank God Dan has heated up things for me below the belt . Well, you sure are a perfect fit for the university . For the content .. there is something called the world wide web . Please type www.uwindsor.ca and go to their faculty of managements web page and get a course catalogue . If your ethics urge you to be more prehistoric please do write a letter to them asking them for a brochure . They would be more than happy to provide you with information . First of all .. just understand what you want to ask . Ask a question like \" Is the MBA program crappy as well \" and then on top of it show slapstickness .
You need not come to forums like canadian desi if you just want details like tuition, course duration and other things .. i hope i rubbed you on the wrong side .. if not do let me know ...
Good luck to you in University of Windsor .

Hello,
This is one of the best threads I read.Could anybody update me on the admit procedure for graduate studies.

I had applied in late March 2005 to Ryerson & U of T for MS in Mech Engg.I hold a B Engg(First Class) and an MS from US and 2.5 years of relevant North American experience.

I got a letter from Ryerson denying me admission yesterday and now I am thinking even U of T is going to send me another letter of rejection.

Why do both these colleges take 3 -4 months to decide on application?

People who get admitted received their admit letters..two - four - six weeks form the date of application.

How come both colleges mailed their decision the same day for the admissions for the entire year(within two days apart). My guess is some Graduate co-ordinator holds the applications (reject types) and sends denial letters to everybody the same day for the entire academic year. That is what I have come to think of.

Thanks,
Jack109
