I am a little confused about the facts presented in this forum and the facts presented by the canadan government. Canadian government clearly states that there are lots of jobs and there are not enough ppl and according to job areas they have made the occupation list, then why there are no jobs?
when we are in india, we have figures from a authentic source i.e. canadian government and we all want to trust that but when we land here we dont have figures anymore but reality and its totally different from the former. I was doing a good job in india as a manager in a MNC only after 2 years of passing out as a chemical engineer with very high growth prospects but then the bug of going abroad bit me as most of my friends are in US and now well settled after completing their post-graduation and I had oppurtunity to go to US but I chose canada as the FACTS presented by HR canada are too good, lots of jobs etc etc and I came here for MS in chem engg, and the day I landed here I realized by listening to stories of my seniors who have the so called great canadian education, that jobs are not there especially for technical ppl. Canada needs labor or cheap labor then why they are choosing enggrs and not farmers because farmers can do labor jobs much better than enggrs, I simply fail to understand that. The unemployment rate listed for engrs is not more than 8% and that means 92% are employed in their own field but thats not what I see in reality bcause In reality most of the ppl who have done their MS or PhD from canada go to US bcause no jobs in canada.
I dont know what to believe anymore

dear PK,

Both Canadain Govt and the members of this forum are right. they have different point of view and differnt objectives of the same thing.

Canadian govt compres itself with african and asian countries and feels itself best and wants best people with money.

members of this forum have earned money by putting in years of hard work and burning mid night oil. So how they are better than what the canada wants.

hence WE have a valid point that our talent is undervalued in Canada.

Am I correct???

Nothing to be confused about.

This is a sick and confusing country. Look at quality of people. Confused immigrants but clever govt. On basis of immigration they suck all hard earned money from immigrants make their life a misery in a couple of months.

A sucker is born every five minutes in this world.

You've used this 'sick and confusing' comment several times.

However, I can see that your location says Mississauga. If it was a 'sick and confusing' country why haven't you left as yet?

Pankaj,

Are you planning to pursue your career only by "listening" to other's experiences? Have you tried job-hunting yourself?

Why not make a sincere effort of finding a job here yourself? That way, even if you fail, at least you'll have your own perspective of reality. My two cents.

Are you there?
