Thanks ottawa_nerd, U know the funny part is I have already given the GRE with good score of 2100 (800 Q, 720 A, 580 V) and TOEFL with 287 and had got admission from two good universities in US in MS but with no funding and also from Dal and USASK from canada but I chose USASK bcause the fee was too low and I was mislead by the FACTS presented by the HR canada which shows 5% unepmloyment for chem enggrs with post-graduate degree, which is ofcourse not the reality.
Anyways thank you very much for the reply, I will srely try to contact profs in Texas.
If I am an international student and want to get US visa I have to go back to india to get it ??? I was not aware of that.

Mods..please merge this thread with Pankaj's other thread

PK.... Thats a very good score.. You should make an attempt at UT Austin... They have a good Chem Engg school and the fees are also reasonable
I have a friend who is pursuing his Phd there in Physics.

Secondly...try the other Southern states. Like Louisiana or Florida...You will have a better chance of securing jobs there also. Do not get discouraged if you do not get funding on landing. Generally you have to come to the Uni..pay for 1 sem and from the next sem, you can get funding (either as a TA, or working as a RA)....But yeah..your best bet is to contact the professors..

As an afterthought..are you interested in solar cell / fuel cell technology ? If so then plenty of research work is going on in those areas. You may want to take a look at them.
Georgia Tech has a strong program in Solar Thermal Engineering...
