ANY UPDATES ON CITIZENSHIP APPLICATIONS SENT IN AUGUST 2004 ?

Hi guys,

We received the receipt of acknowledgement today.
(5 months just to get the ack. WOW !!! )

And thats not all...One of the lines explicitly states that it takes between 12 to 15 months for them to process these appl's after this letter has been dated. (Thats 1&1/2 year of routine processing time!!!)

Have to have a lot of patience. These applications are like wounds....Takes TIME to be done with...

Hi Bison, As you got the acknowledgement now, tha letter says that we can track the application on internet now, Can you try to track application on CIC's website. Why I am saying is that I am trying since I got my ack. but till today I can't see anything, it says unable to recognize.

Same thing here....
Says cannot recognize....

Looks like they dont create/update a files status on their website rightaway.

Guess, Even though, the objective of the webstatus is to avoid those "Can i know my status" phone calls, they know that this is a low priority issue for them.

Someone somewhere either didnt go thru this process effectively, Or Someone somewhere is not doing his job efficiently.
Either way, Looks like they dont care.

Dont worry... Eventually, they do do their job

To all my friends at CANADIANDESI, A very happy (albeit belated) new year wishes. My prayers are that this year bring peace, good health and prosperity to all.

I have just today recieved an acknowledgement from the Case processing station at Sydney NS, for my citizenship application sent in Mid August. It says that the total processing time would be between 12 to 15 months from the date of the letter. In short , one could expect citizenship in about 18 months from the date, one mails his/her applicaition to the Case processing station, Nova Scotia.

I would appreciate any update on this subject.

Filed citizenship app in Sept '04, no acknowledgement yet. In the past routine cases would receive an acknowledgement within 4-6 wks and the citizenship card in abt 10-12 months. What's the timeline now .. 5 mos for an ack, 12 mos for test and 1.5 - 2 yrs for citizenship?

Applied in Sep-04, reveived acknoledgement in Feb-05.
