Chandresh,

I would certainly buy the mattress if you offered me a similar price to what was available in the market. Same goes for the ticket.

To be honest though, you'd have to beat the market prices by a bit to get a good flow of regular customers. I know that's not possible in airline tickets since the margins are very low, however I think its very doable with mattresses. The prices in stores like The Brick or Sleep Country are just incredible if you want a good name-brand mattress.

IMHO, the business may start off slow however once you get good word of mouth, the potential is pretty good.

Hi Chandresh

That was indeed interesting to know that your company also manufactures "only foam" mattress. That was something that I was using in India, a 8 inches thick medium foam mattress on a flat bed, and I found that far more comfortable than the types of beds common here - IMO the ones with the box springs and a spring/foam combo mattress on top appear very "springy".

Could you give an idea of the cost of the "only foam" mattress, say a 6" double?

Thanks

Hi DtC,

I am using this forum only for a market survey - not really of the product I want to sell, but more directed towards the support of our CD community I could expect if I were to start this business.

As I have said earlier too, we would not like to turn this site into a place for advertising and soliciting clients, but at the same time, the purpose of this site is use this as a platform for helping the community, each other and develop networking. Once I have done my homework, I will take help of this site not thru such threads, but rather thru business advertisement. Infact, I should mention here that GG has been kind enough to offer me free advertising to kick start my 'self employment' - that is his way of helping another desi trying to settle in Canada!

However, I shall keep your request in mind if I do go ahead with my venture. But from education point of view, the price would depend on the density of the foam one would require, and I suppose, we Indians are used to (or prefer) sleeping on harder surfaces unlike the westners, and that would require a dense and heavier foam.

And one more point - never buy a mattress by judging it from looks or even by pressing your hand on it. Always lie down on the mattress in a relaxed posture, and feel it. And don't buy it unless you like the feel - even if is given to you for a throw away price.

Chandresh

I voted "Will support only if prices are similar to others".

I would definetly be interested in the Airline tickets.

Chandresh Bhai,

Every time I tried to vote in the poll, I got this error.

An Error has occured, please contact the system administrator.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not know if others also got this error and could not participate in the poll.

However, as far as supporting your business venture is concerned, you can count on my full support for any requirements for myself and other family members as I am sure that through you not only would anyone get a good deal but also a geneuine product as well.

Good luck and keep us informed when you decide to jump in any of these ventures.
