Recently saw map of India on Omni news at 8. Can hurt somebody who is very sentimental about that issue (Me, for sure).

What is wrong with the map of India shown outside of India? Are u talking about the Kashmir region shown different? Well, you may not like it, but it is a fact that a substantial portion in the north of J&K is not under Indian control. It what they we Indians call POK, and the residents and Pakistanis call "Azad Kashmir".
The Indian maps that show pre 1948 boundaries of Kashmir are wrong. India might claim that the territory is wrongfully occupied by Pakistan, but that is what the LOC is.

There is also the North Eastern end of Kashmir that is occupied by China.
Nobody talks about that, but the fact is that the area is wrongly occupied by China.
One can understand the dispute/disagreement between India and Pakistan about the POK area, but there is no dispute about the COK (China Occupied Kashmir) - that area is undeniably India's.

I dint know what actually had happend during those wars with pakistan and China., my father had said that we lost to china badly and conceded our area ..., but, with pakistan ., there was a time when we had lahore under our belt when they called truce and accepted defeat., we being the greatest souls on the earth accepted that and let them have some of our area too... !!! I cant substantiate these facts., but, my pops is an avid follower of these events as he was also in the defense department..
If we have to get back those areas now, we have to again wage a war and become "insurgents" which India never was in its whole history.., so., though saddening , we have to get used to an blunt uncrowned map of India.. the max we can do now is to protect what is left of it.., recent reports had speculated that china has occupied rather civilized into few km of Arunachal pradesh !!! newpaper guys dint follow it up after that....
Anyway guys., Happy Republics Day !!!

More than Pakistan, it was the United States that was worried.
They got together with the USSR and pressured India to accept the truce and withdraw.
This was the '65 war.
