June sounds too far... Why so late? Count me in, if u still got a place Since its that far, You should have a backup plan in case some of ur members cant make it that day
BTW, How difficult is it to get/reserve this location? How much would it cost to reserve this ground for the whole season? ( Lets Say for all saturdays this summer? )
IMO, What ur giving is definetly a good start.... Need folks like u to take on initiatives ( and not worry of getting burned )
Dont need cricket heroes to play these games. How about looking at this as another form or socializing? How about creating a league ? We would need more people who are passionate about spending some quality time on weekends, and cricket is definetely a good way to get them all together. Once people register in a league, they could register for teams, and schedules can be prepared, depending on ground availability... Rules can be set up for teams and fines imposed for defaulters. Lots of leagues do exist in this country. How about a Canadian desi league? One per city...starting off one for GTA? And these folks could definetely bring in their familes as well to watch the game. That way they could socialize too... Once people start meeting each other on a regular basis, It will also be easier to organize events like picnics/parties, etc, etc...
But for acheiving all this, we would need a very strong participation from a board of key-drivers, and equally motiviated participants... And a "feasibility plan/study/debate/meeting" to start off...
Perhaps its time to take this forum to a new level. To make this forum a stepping stone for creating stronger communities who start socializing.
There, I have thrown a ball..... Any batters/catchers/cynics?
Everyone talks of not having friends here, but when initiatives/opportunites are thrown at them to socialize, they back off or stay quite....wonder why?
Think, Influential members of this forum can jump drive this initiative. Do you guys atleast see a need for these sorta intiaitives, Or am i talking to a
Just hoping, this one doesnt dry out too....

Hi All
Thanks for such a wonderful response.I think i have got enough memebers to take it to the next level.
June 11/12 might seem to far to some of us but then i wasnt expecting such gr8 response given the history on this topic and moreover i was planning to KISS(keeping it short and simple).I was planning a 6-8 players a side tounament and INDOOR played with a soft ball and duration around 3 hrs.Lets do it the way General consensus is.
Booking the arena doesnt look like a big deal and they provide the stumps etc and that all we need. The cost per player should come to 5-10 dollars depending on food etc we plan.
It will be played in Australian quick crcket format(with certain rules changed to KISS).
Advice;compaints;suggestions;opinions welcome and are needed.

Hi nishiton1,
Can you please tell us more about the australian cricket format? Will it be like a short pitch cricket or what?
You are right that we should have some openions and views before we reach to some bottomlines. Format of the game should also be one of them.
Rgds,

If there is any place for me....I would love to play cricket any time....let me know Nishit

We will find a way or we will make one
Dont worry guys we will make our own rules for the game but the base will be australian format.
So it will be a normal cricket as objective is to have fun and not learn rules and if we manage more people(around 18 + ) than we can also have a outdoor game with tennis ball.
