I feel vindicated that Chandreshji himself has provided us the various career paths a typical Canadian would take for himself in Canada. I did not see a mention like Business Manager, Profit Center Head, Managing Director(the only guy I know is Rajesh Subramanian the Head of FEDEX, and he was transferred from USA), Director Operations, Chief Financial Officer, COO and so on and so forth.

I am surprised you say that - to me you sounded a wise man!

The various careers/position you have mentioned above are covered under my first sentence which says - 'some stick to just one career'. The guys who are the positions you have mentioned generally DO NOT change careers in search of a good or right career and so they are covered under that.

I had thought you would have understood that without me spelling it out to you.

By the way, my two questions above still remain unanswered. If you look deep into those questions, specially the second one, you would understand that it has nothing personal about you, but just a question on trying to understand the thought behind such an action.

Guys,

This guy Shankaracharya, I think is a loser. I think he did not make it in Canada and will never-ever make it.

I'm on the verge of receiving my visa to Canada and would hopefully would land in Toronto some time late this year. I'm a Financial Controller of a small to medium company in Gurgaon, with B.Com, ICWA, CA and an Executive MBA from New Delhi. I'm 38 years old with a one child at the age of 11 studying in an elite school near New Delhi. My immigration consultant also located in New Delhi with Head Office in Toronto, says that the jobs are plentiful in Canada.

How should I go about landing for a job atleast as a Finance Manager of a decent company from here, so that I can start a good life in Canada upon landing. I think that the $8 and $12 are bogus and he has not done his job search or networking right. My uncle in Brampton make $45 per hour and he travels to USA every week. He tells me that we could buy a nice house in Brampton with zero down payment and have a good life.

I trust my uncle and not the other guy.

Hoping to hear from all those who made it in Canada, about how I should go about starting out in a good salary than these $8 and $ 12.

Please Respond.

Punjabkahero

The only positive & comfortable thing I did was NOT to invest in a house. I can pack my bags at the drop of the hat and move to any location in this world at any moment. I do not worry about the mortgage company showing up on my door if I'm not able to pay the mortgage for 3 to 4 months.

what a contrast to my situation!

The biggest mistake I did after coming to Canada is that I did not buy the house 3 years ago when I had placed my offer on two houses but the asking and offer were having a difference of between 5-10 K

That time the house was 315k and the US$ to C$ was 1.55.
I finally bought a similar house for 430k when the exchange rate was 1.25
So how much I lost? Only US$ 140,775:( :( :( :kaioken:

Aapne kaha:
I had my car accident in December '04 and obtained full claim eventhough I had one way insurance.
Mera sawaal:
Did the insurance company say that it was your Át Fault'accident (1 to 100%) or it was 100% Not at fault?

It is so strange that for same car with same driving experience and for same type of insurance one company would charge insurance of $300 a month, another would charge $250, and another would charge $150 a month!

Should try TD insurance and PC Financial's insurance for rate quote.

Ouch.. I continue to feel the same way. Rent could have transformed into mortgage. But bad on my part that I didnt have much information about different areas, as we had certain priorities in mind, as per which we continue to look for a house.

If one is already aware of the area, then I opine to go for the ownership immdtly.
