India will move forward............but never forward enough than Canada!!!
When u r out of India, India looks great...with all that statistics.... and India Shining.....
But it takes just an hour or two or perhaps for some, it may take little longer..to melt that feeling...
There is no doubt you feel good if u are in better position and have a strong self worth.
For AVERAGE people or AAM AADMI(R.K.Laxman's cartoons class) India at the moment holds little hope... even if you have money or good job... you need to worry about lot of other things.
It will take many generations to really say "MERA BHARAT MAHAAN"
Thank you Val for putting some sense in pompous minds thriving on patriotic fever of motherland. Little do they realise that they left the country and have little or no chances of going back and being in the position that they exult about.
Walk- the talk.

Pray as if everything depended on GOD
Then work, as if everything depends on you!!!
Hi Val,
I agree with what you say and i know things are not good right now for aam admi.
But i was surprised to see me2canada's statement.
The subject of this thread is How will India move forward?
Where was the question of comparing India with Canada. It made me laugh since he still has not understood the subject of this thread. Talking nonsense non subject related matters like patriotic behavior, competition and what not. Deviating from the actual subject made me write.
I think he is one of those frustrated man who must have had miserable life in India and must have gone through hell ( If he is from India) and must be among the one who is ashamed of saying I am indian.
Anyways, i do not want to get into any arguments as it will be endless because his thinking itself looks very much illogical to me and also this debate is not the scope of this thread.
Hey me2, why dont you start a thread comparing India and Canada and future, than we can get into the debate.
By the way, thanks Manasvi for your comments.
Half told Statistics Vs Commonsense or wrong performance indicators.
1. India will become the third largest economy. By then ---
2. India will have largest number of Engineers, Biotechs, Pharmacists, Doctors, scientists
3. India will make largest number of cars/
4. Indians will speak large number of languages
5. India will have largest number of temple/Churches/ Gurudwaras/Mosques/
6. India will have largest number English / Hindi/Tamil/ speaking people.
7. India will have ----
This is what written in English press in India, and believed by the educated.
Both our commonsense and statistics are wrong.
Can some body quantify in terms of %.
Can some one give qualitative analysis.
I have seen more than a dozen just qualified mechanical engineers who could not identify a simple water pump, Police chased by thieves. We have no idea what is meant by quality.
By 2030, can any body predict how many gold medals India will get in Olympics?
By 2030, how many of us can agree that our women in India can travel in streetcar without any escort at 10 P.M.
By 2030, how many women can really trust Indian police and ready to accept their service when they are alone. The reality is ,there are more chances for an Indian women getting raped inside the police station than out side.
Can any one give guarantee that there will not be dowry deaths.
By 2030, how many of us will agree that there will not be a publicly excreting creature.
We Indians have our own problems. For us, it is a long way ahead of us.
Facts are facts. I may love India ,my mother, my son and my wife at the same level.
Infact by 2030 all the problems of India will become global problems. Even now these are the problems of the one big chunk of the world.
Though what Val says is also correct - an average Canadian janitor lives a seemingly more secured and comfortable life than an Indian Engineer - agreed heck , thats why Indian Engineers are ready 2 work as Janitors....
And yes its also true that population / crime / politics have demeaned the value of human life and the apathy it suffers. In fact 2 evade all these we (including yours truly) have run away & are preapred 2 sacrifice r careers and professions for a few odd jobs and uncertainity.
But does that give us a right 2 b 'unpatriotic' . I think every individual shd b patriotic and one who is not is called a traitor . How can we ever forget what r country has given 2 us -- even thru the grilling we have elevated rselves now that we think of taking a new identity .
Emotional rheotric apart ------ yes population pressure is there --agreed and its trememdous but at times I marvel that despite such pressure the country is still shining through .......... I feel the technical shining through and the pitiable crime scenario are 2 sides of the same coin and both of them extremes !! Both of them are equally present and undo each other .
Thats prob the reason why there is a new growing breed of technical / professional millionaires who are making a Xanadu for themselves . I recently visited DLF Gurgaon and the place has got a totally different lifestyle restricted 2 the upper echeleons of the society ....... I still feel that if u r earning INR 50k+ u may have 2 do with a bad public system but u can live a comfortable life .
Manasvi.
