i know that there are many indians in this dreamland , i and my wife are curious to know that if we start tiffin services then will this be sucessfull
also is there a procedure to start this services and how much should i keep the price or what is the normal demands in tiffin meals

Rajiv..for one, bachelor students in Toronto will take up ur service...
Second, ppl who are working in offices (again bachelors) whill take up ur service. Now the catch here is as follows... You can use something like a pre-paid service (less fees/meal) or a post paid service (with a small extra charge per meal..something like the Reliance fone service)....
Delivery of meals also should be done...so you can include the price of delivery in the meal also. If you are veggies then u will have a problem with ur clientale. You should be flexible with ur clientale..and include non veg items also. Also, ppl should be able to carry over their unused meals for the next month also.
Lets wait and see what others have to say.

i LIVE IN BRAMPTON AND FREQUENTLY LOOK FOR TIFFIN SERVICE, BUT UNABLE TO GET ONE.
My suggestion is to start on a small scale .Remember old saying "Never keep all your eggs in one basket"

Tiffin service sounds good. Bachelors in TO need it badly. There are services already in place but not promoted. Few things you probably need to take care of -
0. Good Food. I mean really good quality food. Fresh.
1. Start at grass root level. Spread word of mouth, students are you best target for this. A typical student has other desi students and some chacha/mama in TO, Word for good food spreads like fire here.
2. Home delievery is key.
3. Prices. Vary these. Give cuts on bulk. These people live together, so you have to lure every student in. $5 to $10 a meal based on how many you buy a month.
4. Other big problem for these people is DISHES. No one wants to wash dishes and plastic stuff is so not good to eat in. Use desi style tiffin boxes. Carry the soiled ones back when you deliver.
5. Plug in other services. You are anyways visiting their place. Why not start delivering minor groceries as a value add. Math could be worked out. Addon fliers, newspapers, advt etc.. Tap the market. You have access to a niche here. Start a dating service if nothing else..!
6. Understand your clientele. These are people who need flexible schedules. Students tend to waste 20% if they take up 30 meals a month scheme. Allow them flexible plans. Start off with a customer care service on phone. Later move to internet. These guys are all internet friendly. Give them access to an online service where they can choose/modify/cancel order at 12 hr notice. Saves you the trouble as well.

We all agree that desi students and bachelors need to be targetted. Now the question arises..is it better to go and do home delivery or is it better to set up 2-3 central points (one for each university)..(as desi's generally live close by to the university)..where they can come and pick it up ?
