My thoughts “ why I like Canada/US than India”:

Mostly Indians always look into $$ value like how much earning, I will be manager or director in home country.

India is not Delhi, Bombay or Bangalore. Some people are getting good salary and having good buying power in India think that India become US/Canada.
Go to small cities life is still same the difference is lot of scooters/cell phone now. Still people are getting dowry in marriage. Still you need to have approach (jugaad) in state civil/administrative exams. An IIT guy can not pass police inspector exam without some minister approach. If cop will pull over in India your IIT degree or you are director in IT does not work. Your status go out in 1 sec if he put you in police jipsy and say “ bhai la chalo thana ma isko wha computer dikayga”. You can not do anything with administrative system that is way Indian system works. There is no electricity till 4-5 days in a week in some villages in UP, Bihar and other states too. I remember there are so many open spaces to play cricket now everywhere house and house. Get married and put 1 extra floor on top for making kids. You can not count number of people living in your line but you can count number of trees in your line. All houses are 2 or 3 floor. Our water, electricity and air system can not sustain too many people in that 1 square km. Still we are living and don’t care. Because mostly people think only jobs and salary. At morning you go in public train that go from small city to big city and purpose is taking people for job. But there are more milk tubs in train than human and you have to stand on those milk boxes. Your Van Hussan shirt becomes black in 1 day with this type of system.

I think we are confused, not our kids. We say them A (American) BCD or Canadian born confused desi also. When our kids start getting teenager we start thinking India and start saying we are traditional. Comn …. Dating/party/sex all are happening India now in school/college. Ask on forum how many of us have sex in our college time. I think in big cities it will be 80% who have that.

We have to add the cost of clean water, nice/big lakes, long beautiful clean sea, nice roads, and clean air. We have to add the cost of social etiquettes. No body holds door in India for you if you hold no body says thank you. Our sisters or daughters can not go for jogging in shorts. If you do that then somebody will speak on road something otherwise in 2 days that lady will be hot in the city like Malika Sarwat.

I fully agree that there are something that you can not buy for other thing there is master card. That you can not buy we have to find that cost of that we are getting in this world and they say US/Canada is bad or our country is great.

I Agree

Cleaniness, 24 X 7 availablity of electricty and water, good roads , Good quality of life also has a big value in living in Canada. Not getting an IT job is not a reason enough to go back to India and get back into the same what we came from ..

A few questions for you Mr Singh:

1. Your topic says - THAT IS MY THOUGHT ABOUT CANADA/USA.

However, all I see in your post is - India, India and Indians. I for one clicked on the topic thinking that this is something specially targeted to Canada and USA and would increase my knowledge about these two countries - but I was sadly disappointed. Could you explain the reason why your topic is different from your subject matter???

So?????? Is that right or wrong? You have not mentioned anything or commented on that thought.

What does that mean I am unable to understand - can you elaborate?

So isn't it good? Or you think that your IIT degree or your status as director should work. Or do you think it works in Canada/USA and so they do not punish offenders who are highly educated or highly placed?

That is your perception - but it is not true. Many of us have brought our kids to this country when they became teenagers, and not the other way round as you think. And my friends/aquaintances and I never never call our children confused desis. I think you are in wrong company.

I am ready to lay a bet that your contention is not true even today, forget about the time when most of the forum members were in college (10-20 years ago)

Do you mean so say can not, or rather may not, or will not, or actually Should not???

Pardon my ignorance or lack of knowledge of English language, but I could not understand what you mean by Master Card or we are getting in this world etc. etc. Can you please write in more simple and understandable language?

I second Chandresh's question.

Is is true. If I have enough money I can indeed live as well or even better than in Canada. If you think otherwise, please explain why?

What's wrong with that? Isn't that good?

Still people are getting dowry in marriage.

What's wrong if the dowry is given by the bride's family of their own free will and no compulsion?

If I have money and I want to giove it to my daughter, what's wrong with that?

Moreover, it is a cultural issue and has nothing to do whether you are in Canada or India. A family who believes in the dowry system, will practise it regardless of location.

Are you trying to say that candidates pass UPSC exams like IAS etc with "jugaad"? You must be insane!

I don't believe an "IIT guy" will ever want to give a police inspector exam[sic]!:D

If indeed India is soooo bad for all the people why don't we see a mass exodus of people? Obviously, there is still a lot there that is attractive enough to retain a lot of bright, good and educated people.

I can understand the "get married" part, but what on earth do you need "1 extra floor on top for making kids"??

I swear I had no idea that these days in India they need "1 extra floor on top for making kids"!!!:D :D

True. And perhaps that's what someone had tried to say some time back in this forum and some people took offence to it. Maybe what he wanted to say was that Canada is the ideal place for those in their home country who have the type lifestyle you mention.

The big Q - whats more important ? Ur job , career or the surroundings ??

Imagine the time n effort we dedicate in building a career -- Post class 12th - 5- 6 years and then another 3-4 in settlling down.....almost 10 . Then u spend another 30*8 year hours working in a profession .Thats more than half of ur life ............... & u get a feeling of satisfaction & contribution of ur skills and knowledge ........... Y wud any1 want 2 forsake that for better surrounings & systems ..........?

Or maybe surroundings & systems r imp........... else doctors wudnt relent going 2 villages ...although honestly I have seen doctors from India s premier medical college serving in villages with full content & satisfaction ..........

If after putting 5- 10 years in ur career sm1 asks u 2 forsake it for a menial job in good surroundings........... think twice ......... there s a fly in the soup .

Manasvi.

I think people should use their perception to change India and not run away at the first opportunity (something both you and I are guilty of). That way we are all losers. BIG TIME.

Rahul

You have not mentioned what you do over here?
If you are better off here than there is no harm.

But if you are doing menial jobs and still very happy just because roads are clean, & good trains rtc. Than thats your choice.....You have very low expectations of yourself and high expectation from the govt. This country needs guys like you. Keep it up...
