And Dear Cynic u r right it will take around 4 yrs , Infact the latest news is that they r trying to decrease the period to 2-2.5 yrs, so let me see when can I come there. Hope my parents dont think of getting me married and neither do I fall in for some girl.

News given by immigration consultant?

University/college education is pretty expensive in Canada too.

definately canada is much better place to live....

That depends on several other circumstances. It would not be a "better" place for someone who ends up without a job.

It has nothing to do with optimism or pessimism. What is applicable for one may not be applicable for another. Had this person been older and well settled and doing well in his profession I would have advised hi against coming here. That would be pragmatism, not pessimism.

As you said, Sai, doing a low-paying or labour job for a few months is okay. It is after that when you don't get a good job that you start having doubts. Be ready to do $8-$10 jobs for a long, long time. Other option with you being alone is to do a part-time job & either study part-time or look for a job in the other time.

Many people including myself apply for jobs either of your work experience level or lower jobs. Many times you don't get called for an interview, some times you get called you are not selected. Having said this, there are many people who are doing good jobs in their fields but after having struggled for a long time.

You should be looking to study if you do decide to come to Canada. Also, salaries in India are high now. If you get a good job, I don't think a car or house would be a problem. House maybe, but how many people think of buying a house when they are 26-30 years.

Would recommend trying for a job in the Gulf especially Abu Dhabi/Dubai as it gives you tax-free income & eastern culture too.

Try getting into IT/finance/telecom sectors in India & you dould do great. You could also try doing a job for 2-3 years in India & simultaneously try for a job in US/gulf/Singapore, etc.

Rgds.

Rajan.

Hi Sai,

Do you know how many people are able to buy houses without paying instalments? Even in Canada?

Houses are also very expensive here. If you are frustrated with things out there, don't think life is a bed of roses here. Here also you have floods, corruption (maybe not in all sectors), hardships in all ways. Even after one year here, I am not able to get a good job relevant to my experience. Nor am able to afford a car, etc.

I am not telling this to demotivate you but so that you are aware of the realities here. I was also told about this by my friends when I was coming here but you realise things only after coming here.

Since you are younger, you do have time on your hand. You might succeed where others have not.

Rgds.

sai,
Rajan Desai has shown you the real picture of canada. very few person have the courage to tell truth in such a way , disclosing their personal struggle and sufferings .
i myself tried to get job in canada and later decided to come back to india.
it is easy to sing theory of hard work and patience to settle in canada but things are not as rosy as looks from india.
have a serious thought before leaving to canada if you are doing reasonably good here

:)

Friends , I am glad to receive so much guidance from all of u. U have been there and done it. some succeeded some did not. I agree fully to the fact that hard work has no alternative.

Ofcourse India is booming in some sectors and people are making their millions. U know what hits me hard is that u some of u say that the canadian government is not supportive enough to immigrants but what hits harder is that the indian govenment does not even support those who r born in India.

Yaar I am one of those patriotic guys talking always good and great about India in our groups. But I am the saddest since I know all the talk is waste when our country still has just 30% literacy and further literacy in some parts of the country is described as ablility to sign ur name.

Year after year we have been electing bunch of idiots, since so called intellectuals like me either dont have the finance to contest in an election or dont have the guts to go against the system.

It is disgusting to see western imperialism getting into Indian business. So called IT and Financial boom is the incoming of armies of MNCs who know the ways of marketing loans ( spanning lifetimes). Land prices have reached the ceiling because builders and financial institutions r working together. ( u raise the price, we will finance ur customer).

What makes me think about canada is that atleast I will be able to provide my parents more than what i can provide them being in India.

It sucks to see corruption in every nook and corner. It sucks to see irresponsible government and administration. It sucks to see the working middle class paying exorbitant taxes and the business class smiling their way to swiss banks.

Dear friends I cant see India in India. this is not the India I read in my school books. This is not the India for which I had debated with my 80% engineering class mates who migrated to US for PG studies.

They will be glad to see sai out of India.

I think I need to be selfish and start living for myself and my parents instead of worrying about this +100 crore nation.

Cananda is to start a new life. If thats what god wills.

enough food for thought , waiting for ur replies.

love all,

sai.
