Part time MBA might not get you a job. try for EMBA or Full time MBA. MBA tag is just not enought here, in full time MBA school will help u to find a job

Hi,
Part time MBA answer will help me too........
In my case, I am in the Job and I don't think I really need a MBA to for a Job in my field. But a MBA will help me for sure in long term.
Any leads about Part time MBA.
To me, I am not even looking for Top Notch varsities coz I couldn't afford the fee plus couldn't afford to start the career from scratch.
Appreciate your reply.........

Check McMaster university. My friend has done MBA from McMaster part time a while ago. I think they have classes only on the weekends. It is possible that it was Executive MBA.

York University has a part time program like many other universities. But the diffrence is that the classes at York are the same ones taken by the Full time students. So in fact, there is no diffrence in the quality and level of participation from both the lecturer and students.

EMBA is designed for those who have a business background, or who have achieved some success in the business enviroment. It is more expensive, it is less detailed, it is less of an education and more of building networks and rehashing old experiences.

Preparing for GMAT for me was a matter of getting my speed and accuracy up. The questions are not particularly difficult. The pressure of time is what makes or breaks you. And so I guess for that the only way is to practise with lots of older test papers.

Hi Guys,

Here's my 2 cents: there are 2 ways in which you can do a part time MBA.

1 enroll in regular full time MBA, but don't take as many credits as the full timers do, that way you will be able to finish as and when you want. In such a program, the classes will be during the day, although you can take evening classes also; in many universities there are even options of taking online courses. I know SFU does provide that! Now when you convert a regular MBA into a part time option you have a lot of flexibility, you may ask how? well lets take an example, say you took one course in the Spring semester, but now in summer there aren't any good courses being offered or whatever is being offered does not match your work schedule, well in that case you can actually take that semester off and still maintain a student status with the university. Many universities let the students take 2 out of 3 semesters in a year as \"off\".

2 obviously is look for a University that offers special part time MBA. Programs like these are hard to find, there are a lot of people who apply for admission and many a times the courses available are in the evenings. Also in this option the fellow students in the courses you take will be the ones like you, but in the 1st option you will be taking courses where the students will be mostly from the regular program and believe me it make a big difference in the way the classes and discussions are held in each situation.

Regarding GMAT prep, well try to get the first 12-15 questions right in both quant and verbal. You can make the first 15 questions dictate you score, give good time to the initial ones after that you just have to make sure you get every alternate question right, if you do that successfully, well then my friend I can guarantee you will be able to get a good score, say anywhere between 650 to 700.

Also, SFU has a good IT program MBA-MOT which has a part time option too. check out the following website http://www.sfubusiness.ca/programs/segal/graduate/mot/

Hope this helps
Cheers
Manish.
