Thx for the info. My wife holds Indian passport. So that's the way to go for NSC.
R there any other investments for NRIs like NSC that gives good interest in rupees. Just to keep the money there in rupees and used when visiting or retirement.

DIO : NSC and KVP are not available for NRI so evenif your wife holds Indian passport that does not mean that she is allowed to invest in NSC and KVP.If person is NRI that means stays out of India for more than 183 days then person is NRI.
I am not sure about pension schemes so that why asking CD members if they know any good one.
