I am ordering 500 T- shirts to distribute to my clients and it is being exported from chennai, India.. Since sea cargo takes a long time, I am considering air cargo which is faster.
Can someone suggest if this is a good idea from a cost perspective .. Any suggestions welcome..
Thanks
This is done often. If the delay is caused by the factory they even pay for it. The question is if you or the client can bear the cost. This can be either monetary and/or in terms of customer satisfaction.

Yes, it is a good idea to import by air instead of sea cargo. I don't think the package size will be more than 1-2 m3 (but you can check with the supplier) and you can try to get quote from forwarding companies for both ocean/air freight. You might be paying a little more with air-freight, but I don't think it will be much.
Please don't forget to add all other costs like B/L or airway bill charges, handling & custom charges, etc. and any forwarder can give you the total cost.
