Infrastructure or lack thereof is the Achilles heel for India.
Roads and traffic discipline are pretty disgustingly pathetic. Luxurious buildings are built, amazingly without any provisions for parking spots.
There may be highways that once in a while gets boasted about in the CD threads, but overall, infrastructure is non-existent. Traffic, however, seems to exponentially grow.
In comparison, I was in Mexico in a small town of Saltillo few weeks back and I should say, even though we all had to imagine or make up the number of lanes on the highway as we drove, the traffic discipline had to be commended. I was able to drive without fear or stress. People followed the rules for the most part and the roads were good to great.
