some one said (in one of the above posts) that you are born a hindu and cannot convert - who said this? which scripture?

if a person cannot choose his religion, how is that religion useful to humanity? any theory that is based on birth has to be questioned.

after seeing your comment about India being a secular country, I couldn't stop laughing. I was at a coffee shop a few months back and I had struck a conversation with an old lady who also happens to be a rightwing christian (I am giving the part which is of interest to bangaloredesi):
