Can any one clarify my doubts please.
I have sponsored my son (11 years). Here (GTA) school reopens 5th Sept 2006. school Admission registration process starts last week of august 2006. Is it possible to get visa stamping before end of August 2006?, and also I would like to know Whether my son can travel alone?


1. Application submitted on 15th may 2006 along with medical Report IMM 1017 - CIC Missisauga oN

2. Decision made on 08th july 2006- CIC Missisauga oN

3.CIC New-Delhi started processsing on 18th july 2006 and no communication from CIC- New Delhi till now regarding requesting passport.

Yesterday my frustration forced me to post my query in the forum. To day My son got the letter from CIC/New Delhi to send passport for visa stamping. Now he sending his passport to CIC NEw Delhi.Hope Visa stamping may not take more 15 days.

Now I would like to know Whether my son can travel alone? or parents/Guardians need to accompany?

Whether your son can travel alone partly depends on the policy of the airline he will fly. Lot of airlines do provide escort assistance to assist minors from certain age to certain age. They may, however, have different policies for domestic and international flights.

You should not worry about your kid travelling alone. As he is 11 years he will be handed over from one airline officer to another till he reaches you. They will also assist in immigration and customs formalities.

Just explain to him all the steps that he will be going through at various airports and tell him to be careful and responsible.

He should be just fine.

dont worry about school. we landed in dec and my son started school jan. with out a problem . i would go to the school and inform them. just get copies of his school record for them.
airlines take minor children all the time. personally i would get a direct flight for him even though it may be more expensive. just explain in detail the steps of the journey and hell take it as an adventure.

The passport already have been received by CIC/NewDelhi on 18th August 2006. I am waiting for his visa stamping. I think it takes another 3 weeks according to CIC /New Delhi timelines.
I hope my son can travel alone .
