Hi,
We have recently moved into a house.
And are shopping for a natural gas contract.
There are few players in themarket like Direct Energy/Superior Energy/rite rate.
Rite rate being the lowest for 5 yr fixed.
While Superior is higer but is offering the advantage of giving consumer the benefit if the market price is lower.
Has anyone done any recent survey or have any toughts about his.
Please advice.
Thanks

I had once signed up for a fixed price gas contract back in 2001. At that time my contract was for 21.9c. That winter the gas price rose to 36c, I was thrilled. The following summer it dropped to 10c. I cried. Luckily I moved that summer and I was told the contract gets cancelled automatically. Some of you may wonder, why is he some much bothered about the gas price in summer when there is hardly any consumption. True, but we have a gas stove, so besides the hot water tank and home heating (in winter only) , we use gas for cooking all year.
