Hi all,

Just wondering if there were any online courses someone knew of where you could learn to speak French. I don't live anywhere near Toronto so colleges/uni's around that area are of no help to me. I've already checked with colleges and uni's in my area and no one offers and French languages programs, which is why I think online courses are the next best thing.

Otherwise I'm going to order those CD's you can get from Amazon that teach you how to speak a different language.

Any help is appreciated!

PP

I figure there would be language labs in the libraries - I have not tried them myself though but have heard they are good for self-paced study of foreign languages.

Hi PP,
Try Michel Thomas
He is quite good. I did not have the patience to stick with it for longer but I found his teaching method to be very lucid. Your post reminded me to dig it up and I'm planning to continue listening to him during my work commute now.

Try looking in ebay for a better deal on his cd's.

I can send you a sample file inorder to help you decide. e-mail me if so.

I have been trying to locate an economical French learning aid in GTA. Not yet
successful. Now, I have borrowed few language CDs from Library and keep listening to them. I focus on the "sounds" and way of pronounciation.
