This happened in our Brampton on Ray Lawson Blvd in a Desi(Pakistan) owned jewellery shop at 11.30 AM. When the gentleman was preparing to open his shop he saw two Burkha clad figures who wanted to enter his shop. He thought they were for shopping and he allowed them to enter his shop. The came in put a gun on him, removed all the Security cameras, they were then followed by 2 others who came in and ransacked the whole shop and removed 40 Kgs of gold jewellery worth more than a million Dollars and walked away. It is suspected that there were more outside who made this OCEAN 911 type heist. This shop is located very near the local police station !.
This is not the first instance but several Desi Jewellery shops have been robbed at knife/gun point but went unreported as most of the inventory is not billed and on cash basis. It is estimated that only 5% of gold is on record while the rest is bought and sold on cash basis without taxes.
I've also know more than 6 incidences involving Desi/Chinese homes in Brampton/Orangville/10th Line which have been burgaled in the last 3 to 4 months. All these homes had some form of security alarm systems. None of the crimes have been solved till to date, while they have caught the kidnappers of the Adobe Chief in India within 48 hours and recovered the Rs.50 Lakhs !.
Is Crime/Gun Control - safety for human beings going for a toss in our GTA ?.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
It sounds like to Burka ladies steal the shop. Lady is in robbery business.
Kidnapping would be assigned more severity than robbery.
It was 4 days for the kidnapping case in India and not 48 hours; police was helped by Naresh Gupta himself with tracking software, etc. http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1065010
