We are planning to go to India by British Airways next month. Can anyone share his / her recent experience travelling by BA through LHR. Due to the added security measures do the transit passengers face any difficulty? Or would it be the same as in transiting through Frankfurt or Paris?
Am getting BA tickets for approx 1450 incl taxes. I think that is a good rate.
I have travlled with BA many times via LHR. I never had problems. Even I travelled on Aug 10th when all those BIG drama(liquid BALM) happened. I was transitting from LHR to LGW (Gatwick). BA agents helped me all along.
Even though security is tight in LHR, they will guide and help you in right direction. They are more friendly from my experience.
I don't think you will face any problems transitting through LHR.
If you hold a Canadian PR card or Citizenship you are fine. But if any one of you are Indian passport holder with visitors visa in canada you may have to get a DATV ( Direct Air Transit Visa). Although the tkt price you mentioned is good, but still I would think twice before touching London based on my experience with BA
We have our PR card so that is not a worry. What was your bad experience with BA?

The treatment of the air crews towards the passengers in the flight from London to India is terrible. They think they are doing a favour by going to India. At the outset the flight from London departed around 2 hours late but no one was there at Heathrow to offer any explanation. In the name of security these people will virtually rip you off, which I found very humiliating.
There are other incidents which could be personal emotions, but given an option I shall not travel in BA
