Hello all,
Just wanted to rekindle this topic. I have had Rogers internet (lite for $41.49/month) so far and comwave VOIP phone ($14.95/month) and India Ld long distance plan for 1000 mins ($13.95/month)
Recently have thought of bundling the VOIP and Internet with Comwave ($49.95/month) add their India 1000 ($10/month).
By doing the switch, I will be saving about $20/month. Do you think this is a good move. Has anybody had experience with their internet quality and tech support?
The only problem I see with this setup is that I have to enter a 3 yr contract with them.
Thanks
my two cents
get freephoneline.ca's free phone and use raza.com's 10$ per month unlimited india package.

BE HAPPY KEEP HAPPY
Use Majic Jack plus for free North America calling ... As well as Raza.com 1c/m plan for India calling .... Some times access numbers are over written by MJ sp as to force one to use their LD service but guess what - MJ itself has free NA calling so you can switch to using access number in any other city in Canada or even in the US free of charge ...
Or simply use the 1-877 number for a pinless dial ..... MJ+ is better than MJ as it connects directly to the modem effortlessly .
Did not know about the Majc Jack App ... Thanks for posting this ..Will try this ...

After flirting with Rogers for sometime, I hesitatingly made a swtich to ACN. I've now been with ACN for about 2 years and have had an overall pleasant experience with their service. My home phone VOIP has surprisngly clear voice and I pay $29 flat monthly with all calling features and free calls to North America and India (apart from many other countries) without ANY restriction on minutes. I have unlimited internet (very important due to kids at home) though not with a blazing speed, but more than sufficient for everyday surfing and streaming videos and movies. My combined bill for phone+internet is $75 monthly including modem rental/taxes. I paid $100 installation which was credited back after 3 months of usage plus I got $25 bonus in bill adjustment.
There might be some cheaper alternatives available in the market, but I really like some free features like online access to call forwarding as well as voice messages and voice message delivery via email.
Unfortunately, I'm still stuck with Rogers for cable TV as I can't find any cheaper and reliable alternative.
