You can incorporate online with in few hours. If you are looking for contract jobs, most likely recruiters are asking you to setup a corporation (incorporation) not partnership.
If you are looking at establishing businesses, following sites will help
Enterprise Toronto

The Entrepreneurship Center, Ottawa

Toronto Business Development Center

The simplest form to have contract work is SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP. For that you do not have to get incorporation.
YOU just have to call or get in touch with CCRA and register your business in either your personal name or any other name as you want. Give them the name and address of business, they will allot you the business number which youneed to give to the firm with whom youare about to take contract work.
This way you may claim all the expenses without even opening a separate bank account. This will save you time, efforts and worries legally, financially and operationally.
Once your business is flourishing, you may switch over to any form.
Consider this and incase youwant to know more about different forms and their benefits, call me at 416 399 1009 or write to me at

CCRA is getting picky and has tough test for considering who is independent contractor and who is really an employee disguised as contractor to save on employer portions of taxes.
Most recruiters and clients are preferring to hire contractors who are incorporated as corporation is considered totally separate legal entity from the individual who incorporated it in most cases. Little easier to get around CCRA Independent Contractor Test.
