hi everybody
i have seen many messages on this board about PGD courses in engg or other graduate courses of less than 2 yrs duration. let me tell you few things the courses which involve most of course work are not that good to do in canada the reason is that you wont get sufficient time to grasp the fundamentals the education system is such and secondly they will be too costly and not recognized in india.
i know there is gross unemployement in india but i have seen in ppl who r well settled in india a desparation in coming to canada and when people come here with desperation it converts into frustration as they have not done enough homework and r not ready for surprises.
Canada is good for doing research based degree nowadays as govt is spending hugely on research and there r funds and good projects but research is done in only top 20 univ of canada rest all is crap so if guys get admission in those univ in research area then it may make sense to try ur luck as u will get degree for free and money and international exposure too. canada is not heaven and dollars r not there on trees so we must understand that and secondly canada is not that industrialized as states so less jobs for tech ppl.
im in MS even after MS frm good univ ppl r not getting jobs they r either going for PhD or back home. so please dont commit blunder by quitting your job and abandoning your families for canada. if you have a decent course in a reputed university only then think of coming here so that if you have to go back you r not at complete loss.
guys who r unemployed and cant do anything in india can come here but its not easy for them to come here and still more difficult to settle down.
world is everywhere the same canada is not heaven where all your wishes will be fulfilled its just another country which is more wealthy but that is for its own ppl and not for students as we have to spend in dollars.
i know i cant change the mindset of people but we should never loose hope.
regards
