Hi Jyoti and Murthy,

Like you both, I am also working in Dubai. I migrated with family in 2002 and came back to Dubai.

There is no hard and fast rule for success. But people going from Dubai...things will be difficult. You will not get surprised seeing Toronto. I did not see anything new in Canada which I didnt find in Dubai except for greenery.

When I landed first I thought I have reached a " dream land". I was terribly disappointed...except for greenery i did not find things very enterprising.

Next is the job scenario......The more qualified you are more difficult it is to get jobs.....You belong to the lower category...you get job easily. It also depends what background you have. If you have worked in a highly paid job you will be disappointed.

I work in an Oil company in Dubai and I was terribly disappointed job wise...After 12 years of Engineering experience working for American and British companies..who have same standards as Canadian companies...they did not accept me.My only fault was that with my qualification and experience.. I belonged to a job which has a salary bracket of $ 65 k plus...which is not my fault.

Transition period of 2 years is there......try to get into smaller jobs initially......I guess people will get adjusted..........

Only thing is you need to make up your mind that THIS IS THE LAND where you are going to spend rest of your life and try to adjust to whatever opportunity you get...........This is the only was you can succeed.

Deep

My hubby wants that we'll (i & my hubby) come together in canada. Is this better to come canada together or i'll come canada later. He is a principle applicant. Is this make any difference or just a myth. Plz advice

For some Extent it's true but its depends on which field you are gonna apply but its better to have job offer in hand and then apply for visa and come to canada . i would suggest first head of the family shouldcomes first and settel and make a way for you , but before all i would suggest you consult http://www.xiphiasimmigration.com" target="_blank">canada immigration consultants before taking any decsion .

Why is he answering a question from 2004 ??? ..ha ha

TK are you typing on your Office computer during office hours , or are you typing on your smart phone with a data plan on it from your office & from God's own country ?

I think you should use your office computer & their internet , so that you can save your phone battery plus NOT incur extra data charges ( internet charges ) on your phone ( Prepaid or Postpaid )

Just a suggestion that's all.

Adam,
Thanks for the concern.
My office gives me many free things incl.:
1. SIM No internet. But we have Wifi at office so I take from that. I just check my what's app from that.
2. Internet in my work computer. I do CD from that.
3. Laptop with internet connection at home. So any post that comes from 10 pm to 1 am is from that.
