Nice website with good information. We need some guidance with our situation. We got PR in May 2004. My spouse got job in US so moved to US in May 2006.
I moved to US in Jan2007 and returned July 2007. Since than I am here. I completed 1095 days and applied for citizenship in May 2008 for me and my 4 year old who was mostly in India/US. I have couple of US entries and one India entry as absence because my spouse and child were in US. We have filed taxes here regularly.
We plan to move to US in Sep 08 becoz of job. US company has applied for green card and we are waiting...So my questions are
- can I move to US after application here and return only for test and oath.
- Will it be considered as no intent to live here and jeopardize my application?
- While waiting for citizenship if we get our green card will there be any issue entering Canada?

-- No. Because there is no law to prove your intent (like for british/aus citizenship). All you have to do is to maintain your PR status. Your contact address while you are away from Canada has to be cdn, because the CIC does not mail anything outside of Canada.

-- You have to enter Canada as a PR of Canada - if you enter using your US GC then there will be an issue in getting your citizenship.
