Hello to all who have taken Citizenship Oath,
I took Citizenship Oath yesterday. I the Notice of Oath it clearly mentions that we have to take our Record of Landing (IMM1000) and PR card during the Oath ceremony. I am not sure what is record of Landing, but I did have the IMM 5292 which was stapled to the Indian passport at the port of entry when I landed in Canada. I presented my PR card and IMM 5292 along with my India passport just before the Oath. However, the officer only took my PR card. According to the Notice it mentioned that they will 'update' the IMM 1000. But there was no update to any document which I have. Now my question is will this cause problem when I apply for Indian visa? I think they ask for record of landing also for the visa application.
Anyone in the same situation or have applied for Indian Visa with 'Un-updated' IMM 5292 only, please share info. and clarify my doubts.
Edit: Also does our SIN changes after citizenship?
Thanks in Advance.
Hi,
Please clarify is I am unnecessarily worried about this issue and let me know if IMM5292 has been updated while you took the Oath.
Thanks
Your sin should start with 7 and will not change after citizenship. If you were here before landing and your sin first digit was 9 then it should have changed at landing not now.

I meant to say upto 7 that is 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 but 9. The rest is all there. Just check the following page for more details:
