Hi Shailesh ,

The market is even bad in India also ... I cleared my CISSP almost 2 months back and still stuck at the same place ... not able to find a better job for my self ..

So the question should be if the market is good how easy or difficult is to get an IT job in Canada ?

Regards ,

Dragoman

IT Jobs in Canada almost same all the time.
Jobs are less, competetion is more. Don't compare US IT market with Candian IT market. Canada is small place for IT.
If you are lucky you get a job in a week .

Intially every one has to struggle, but you as the days increses you will acquire more expertise and find ways to settle down.

Its all your luck.

If you want to try, no harm .

All the best.

Can someone tell me what would be a better course to opt keeping in mind the availability of jobs there in toronto - Web Designer, Computer Animation or Software Development. I have applied for a 1 year PG diploma course for sept 2009 batch after which i'll get 1 year work permit. I want to stay in canada and apply for PR aftr my work permit expires. So want to know in IT what is good demand so that i easily acquire Work Permit/PR.. Aim is to settle in toronto..

Regards
Vish

Let me know what you have done in Network Admin and also as a QA.

I got a good job staying 45 days without any job, the EI kicked in after 15 days so it was ok for 30 days and then a job.

Toronto08 if you want I can send you my CV for future prospects. I like to make good friends out there, who when ever required do help each other out in times of need.

I have realized one thing it’s not the job availability or the market which drives the Job Market here. It is the Networking of friends and contacts which does. Market good or bad, if you have the right skill set and the right approach to the situation with good network of friends you will sure hit the jackpot anywhere you are in the world.

In my opinion, at the moment one should try to stick to what one has, rather than hunt for a better one, I mean JOB :).

Also, Canada is a flexible place where you will be able to do anything for a living, not like India where to maintain the prestige or name you don’t want to do anything other than your own field.

At least life is much much better out here than India.

What is 221(g)?

Applicants are ineligible under section 221(g) because the applicant failed to bring some information or document, or some further procedure or review by the consulate office or another U.S. government agency must be completed. During the interview the consular will advice you on further steps to getting together the correct documents. Call or visit your nearest US consulate to find out more.

Hope this helps.
