Hi ,
It seems that it will be difficult for me to hang on till May'09 (or whenever the test will be scheduled for me) in Canada given the current state of affairs at my current job. With this instability in mind, I decided to move to India after I applied for my citizenship in Jan '09.
It is on my wish list to complete all formalities for citizenship before I leave but it seems quite unlikely. Having said that, I would not like to lose out on citizenship of canada or get it delayed for too long.
- What do you think are the chances that my absence after my application (made after 1095 days of physical presence) would cause delays/routing to citizenship judge/? Your best guestimate?
- Would the CIC be fully aware that I have left canada? Would they care about this after I have fulfilled 1095 days requirement?
- You mentioned in your message that CIC could put me through hoops and hurdles. What do you think these could be?
Thanks,
VD

If you can take the test with 2 weeks notice, it will be alright and then go to citizenship oath and ceremony you should be fine. However they require you to report to them if you will be away for more than 3 weeks. So I am not sure they ask in the process down the line and you may have to accept the fact that you no longer live here will complicate the case.
best case it is worth staying for the citizenship then stay. I am not usre about your circumstances but am sure a survival job won't be hard.
