Hi All,
My birthplace is different in Indian passport and Canadian passport.
Actually in Indian passport they took the name of District not the name of town.
When I applied for Canadian passport I didn’t notice and filled the name of town.
I have an attested copy of Birth Certificate but not original here with me.
All papers are ready, I need your advice, should they will consider attested copy for BC or not to grant OCI?
Please advice if any one has same situation or any expertise.
Thank you very much for your advice in advance.
Regards,
Derry
You provide them with all of the originals that they ask for. They will return the same at the time of submission back to you after verifying them.
The best thing under the circumstances is: Fill in the application form the way you want your name to appear in the OCI document. Then throw the whole lot of copies at them. They will sort it out in their computer. Provide them with covering letter with an explanation like the way you have done here. That should do.
Hope they don't return the papers back to you without processing.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
Take as many documents as you have when you go to CGI. There was a guy in front of me in the line up who has a similiar issue and his application was rejected.
Good luck
T
