I was short-sighted while buying my cordless phone. I bought a Panasonic 2.4 GHz phone with just one handset. Now, the extra handset is only available on panasonic website or at telephone depot. Also, my Creative X-Fi system tend to create interference with my phone.
If I buy a new DECT 6.0 GHz phone, I do not think it will interact with 2.4 GHz phone, which leaves me with two base sets.
Does anybody know if India has same telephone jack system as Canada? Wikipedia says "yes", but I would like to know if somebody has any practical experience using "Canadian" phones in India.

If yes, I can send the old phone to India. Only thing they have to buy is a 220 V adapter
Only catch is that by the time I buy a 6.0 GHz phone in coming days, there will be already a new technology available in market

Yes it will work. Just buy the 220 V adapter and you are fine. My mom took a 2 way cordless a few months back it is working fine.
