We bought a bedroom set from a desi furniture place in Scarborough area, Keneddy road and upon delevery found that one of the pieces was broken. We had already paid the whole cash when the broken piece was discovered.
Initial reaction from the shop owner was, "dont worry, we willexchange it". Then it got to "I think it can be repaired". Then the piece was collected and a long silence.
Since past more than a month with regirous phone calls, the only response we get is a voice mail. The shop people say, the guy is busy or he will call you back or whats your invoice number.
We do have the invoice with proof of cash payment.
Is there something we can do to set it right. Like a consumer forum type thing.
Please advise.

Phone calls are not going to work. You have to go in the store and ask them to resolve ur problem or you will stand on the door and tell other customers dont to bur anything from them...
Please remember, Desi shops sometimes offer you a cheaper deal for cash but they dont provide service. Leons and bricks cost little bit more but U are secure.
Tigercanada is right, you'll have to go in person and fight it out.
The problem with these no name dealers is that they not only sell for less but also have the audacity to say it to you.. I'm selling it so cheap.. what more do u want from me.. so don't be surprised if you get the same reaction.
Good Luc

I am sure you must ve paid in cash ... if it were on credit , you could have disputed the transaction . Pay by credit card as far as possible .
