You will need to send a letter to the local office explaining why you are not able to make it to the oath ceremony. Please check what your oath letter says regarding that and/or confirm it with the CIC call center.

When they do reschedule it after you come back, please ensure that you attend it. Please have some patience too because nobody can predict when they will rescehdule your oath for.

If u dont want to wait for another 6 months for the new oath date u could check with the airline about fines to change the departure date..

I already have my tickets so I can prove urgent travel for both Cdn passport and India visa.

my question is whether this plan is doable or not.
does everything happen as predicted like do they actually give passport within 24 hrs. and Indian embassy gives visa same day?
