Vivek,
Welcome to this site!
You will find many articles here - and you can easily judge how life is and how one get job in his field of expertise.
I have no idea about marketing in this country, but our one member "videsee" is in Marketing and he can guide you better.
Regarding education jobs, I think your wife has to pass some tests, but again not sure.
In short everyone has to get a certificate (pass exams) before they get real work!

yo........Mr.Vivek...good you have joined this chat. Take your time and read the postings of the desis whom you'll find at the height of frustration.
You have to clearly understand one thing. All your degrees and indian exp. can fetch you a visa to this country but does not reward a life.
From today onwards, you must understand that your indian degrees,etc.. is nothing but a piece of garbage.
When you come here, you are considered FOB(fresh off the boat). I would recommend you to work out at a gym and build some muscles which will help you do some labor job. Even labor jobs are not that easy to find. After couple of years, when you are financially and socially sound, you may wanna take a break and go to a school to requalify yourself in your field. No job is permanant here. Layoff is a tradition.
I have no idea what you guys dream of before you come here or while applying for immi. I feel that the indian immi. agents are the culprits who project cananda wrongly just to run their business.
I hate to see these desis blaming this wonderful country for ruining their lives.
Hence, if you believe in tough labor and a tough life for initial years, then this country would be happy to welcome you.
By the way, marketing concept in this country is totally different plus you need the local market experience to get a break thru. you may get in as a in-training salesman but most of these jobs are commission based which does not feed your family. So forget inquiring about the mktg. jobs while in India.
No offence. But let there be no misunderstanding with regards to starting a new life here. Stay cool. You and your wife should start getting mentally prepared for a tough life ahead.
Good reply guju, I thoguht I should not use any hard words to frustate anyone - so I stayed away from saying anything like that.
But what you said holds totally true - unfortunately

well my friend. I hate to say this. But it's the life which indian especially gujju people live in India and their upbringing which becomes a hurdle once they move abroad. I have had a tough life since I was a teenager while in Europe. Back home when I see my cousins and other people, it pisses me off when they say "I cannot do this"?"what will people say"??
Here an engineering student will be doing a labor job while doing his 4 months co-op to pay his fees and support himself. kids start working at anearly age. In India, everyone is spoonfed till they get married and have kids. They have no idea what is self-dependence and that a work is a work. Neither inferior nor superior. Here, in offices, we have no peons. The manager is a peon.
I believe that the day each indian starts realizing this and becomes self dependent, India will be looked upon as Japan or any 1st world country.
Am I wrong?
