I am a Canadian PR Card Holder with Indian Passport. I will be transiting thru
London Heathrow Airport for my Journey to a African Country. I do not have a Valid UK Visa . My flight from Canada arrives in evening & next flight leaves next day afternoon. ( time is less then 24 hours). I need to go to a Hotel near Airport. Can I get a Visa on Arrival /Transit without Visa ( TWOV) without any problem.

I witnessed one such individual, (Nationality unknown) get stuck in Heathrow without a Transit visa. He had to return back. He was heading to Cairo. He could not transfer to another flight, at a different terminal. Hence the suggestion. He returned back and claimed the cost through BEA (Those days)
Here is a link with Nationalities and exemptions etc., It might help you. So please call the British High Commission in Ottawa if you feel you need to get in touch. You are holding Canadian Visa (PR CARD) and might be able to "Transit Without Visa". It is generally permitted.

Thanks. I had transited thru Heatrow without any problem with same terminal. But this time, I have to go out for the night & come back to same terminal. I do not have much time left for the journey. As per website, I can get transit withoot visa based on my Canadian PR. However, I want to be sure before i book Ticket. I will try to call High Commission tomarrow morning. I hope they will reply.
Anybody with similar experience.
