Hi CD’S – I am currently in the process of enrolling into the CGA program and needed a bit of advice? I need to give some challenge exams so was wondering of what is the best way to go about this?
Can I get some used books from someone or I need to buy from CGA only?
Cheerz,

Dear CD's,

I have also enrolled in CGA. I got 11 transfer credits out of 21 papers.

My question is can I ask for further transfer credits in advanced level 4? If I get transfer credit in the advanced level 4 am I suppose to give a challenge exam for the transfer credit in the advanced level 4?

Also how is the exams of this CGA are they like our Indian or US(objective) curriculam?

Roughly how much time it will take for me to pass these remaining 10 papers?

Any suggestions most welcome.

Regards
Aditya2007

CGA will not grant you any other transfer credits unless you enroll in a equivalent course at a college or university, once you pass the course with at least a 70%, then you will be eligible for a transfer credit
Please refer to the CGA transfer credit policy for each college and university.

I would say around 2 years. It might seem to be a long time, but it will take you an average of 2 years to fulfill the work experience requirement.

Dear Voltrex,

Thanks for your advise!

Can you also tell me generally how many papers should be given in one exam?

I guess I have in total 5 yrs to finish the CGA isnt it for 11 transfer credits?

The links provided are very useful. Can you guys give some indicative information about the job outlook near the end phase of CGA and after passing the CGA. I am asking this info specifically about various areas in Ontario and British Columbia.

Thanks.

Job outlook is good if you have the work experience to back it up. I have personally met quite a few newcomers from China who are in PACE level (through CGA China) but can't secure an entry level accounting job.
Also, advanced standing in the CGA is not that impressive since almost any accounting grad from a Canadian university is automatically placed in the final stages of the CGA program.

Don't rely on reaching the PACE level to starting searching for work.

You must be doing some kind of entry level accounting work if you are a CGA mid-level 4 student.
