Does anyone here own or run a Clothes store?
I am trying to find the ins and outs of running a small store featuring women and kids clothing and was wondering what are the costs and other intricacies involved.

I dont have a store yet...but know a bit about the trade. Are you talking about ethnic clothes(I dont know much about trade in the same)?
If its readymade garments...women and kids market is a good one to target. Are you going to be importing or buying locally? If you do not intend to purchase in volume the latter may be a good idea for you. You will find quite a few local importers in the TO area. Right now I am sniffing the market to find what is rent etc in malls in GTA area for a small store selling readymade clothes for women (non-ethnic)
Will appreciate if anyone has done any work in similar field or knows a thing about running a store in malls etc.

It should give you an idea of the rates to buy or lease.
There are some real-estate agents here may they can be of help too.
p.s: As you will find...the lease will depend on the sq ft, the kind of mall etc. Mall Management look for a right mix of businesses as their tenants and some are more picky than others.
