Hello All,
With the start of winter, I am considering to install a remote car starter for my 04 Sienna..
I am looking for a 2 way starter..
If you can suggest any deals/installation shop that would be great..
So far I was able to find a shop offering installation for approx $320 for 2way Compustar RF-2W900 with 3000feet range..
I also found a vendor in pacific mall offering Compustar RF-P2W9000-SS with 1mile range for $275 + installation of $170 from another mechanic..
Any suggestions will be helpful..
Cheers,
dkp
I have a similar starter, and the only problem I have with that is the battery on the remote runs down quickly. There have been numerous occassions when I get to the car and the remote is out of battery. I've had to run to the corner store and buy a 'AAA' battery.
1. With regards to Compustar RF-P2W9000-SS - why would you want a 1 mile range. Take the range stated by the manufacturer with a pinch of salt
2. In Scarborough, try Jake Tech, 1780 Midland Ave Scarborough GTA , ON , M1P3C2, Phone 416) 285-0095. It's owned by an Indian. I found him v professional and reasonable. A few years ago paid around $75 just for installation. He does sell units too.
Try some online sites. At one time Sams Club (in Canada) was selling a similar one for around $150 or so.

Why do you want one?
How about a block heater instead?

Hi Guys,
I had my starter installed at Jake Tech.
This guy is surprisingly very very busy.. My experience though was very bad.
Do your own research before you go to this place. The guys there lies through there teeth and keeps on making lot of promises..
I went to his place hoping for the best service and got worst service. Had to visit lot of times because of some issues..
Thanks

I got mine installed at audio Haven in Vaughan and am satisfied.
One thing I suggest is not to get it installed for cheap at Canadian Tires/Best buys and Futureshops.
Also go for a well branded company such as compustar and viper.
Specialty places have highly experienced workers then these franchise stores.
