Hello!
I reside in Dubai and am working as a Service Manager in a Multinational Bank since last 15 years.
I got my immigration file number (category -skilled worker immigration) in October 2007 (old rule) and till date there is no progress and the status on CIC is 'in processing'.
My immigration consultant says that my file should get processed in about 8-12 months but I cannot rely upon them as this is their standard reply since the last 3 years. Also its obvious from their response that they themselves are not too sure about the situation and I have lost trust with them and hence I do not wish to deal with them any more until there is any progress on my file.
Recently, when I contacted a different immigration consultant to find out what best can I do about my situation, he suggested that my job slkills are in demand as per the NOC list for skilled worker immigration and said that I can reapply for immigration in the new category for skilled workers in demand. He also offered to take over my file from my existing lawyers. Ofcourse, I will have to pay the fees to him for processing my file again which is USD 5000 in three installments (upon submitting the file, receiving the immigration file number and getting the letter for doing the medicals)!!
Under these circumstances I am not too sure if I should refile my application under the new category as I understand that the processing time there again is 8-12 months. Also I will have to pay the new immigration consultants their fees and again if they fail to provide service then I lose my money and time!
Is it possible to file my application through an immigration consultant in Canada as I feel that this would be faster than filing an application from the Gulf?
Request you to please guide me if I should refile my application or should wait patiently and If I can file my application through a good immigration consultant in Canada?
Thanks in advance for your response,
Regards,
Fellow Desi
Better wait. Canada has lot of back log to clear.
Call up cic and find out..
The timelines and rules have changed so much , i dont know if anyone is qualified to answer that question.
Hi There,
Do not give awa your hard earned money to these immigration consultants. When you refile your application, you have to inform your previous trail of immigration & its outcome in the application.
You will be loosing all your que and money also.
Try to check with immigration canada with reference to your current file number.
I suggest to wait as nobody accelerate the process.
Goodluck

Love is the hunger of human soul & devine beauty..love our fellow indians.
Actually new applications in some cases are getting processed faster than older applications because of change in rules... old application are not under the new rules hence could take longer..
So there is some value in refiling in some cases.
