Another day, another city, another blast. The government is weak kneed to act against the culprits. They blame the Intelligence and the Police for not providing prior information!!! Will anybody get one? Even if the culprits are caught,tried and sentenced, will the government carry out the sentence? Even if the terrorist goes in front of TV cameras and accepts his guilt, it is unlikely they will be punished. Remember Afzal Guru in front of TV cameras, his hands in iron chain, proclaiming on ND TV that he was responsible for Parliament attack. That was in the year 2000. The Rajiv Gandhi assassins have spent nearly half their life time in jail. Then why blame the police and intelligence agencies.

Last time when a brave officer of the Delhi Police sacrificed his life, while apprehending terrorists, politicians worried about minority votes, wanted a judicial enquiry. Public would have even forgotten his name (Madan Sharma?).

If we are to really get rid of this terror menace, we should not hesitate to hang atleast some of the terrorists immediately. Why not practice Last In First "Out" with those in the death row. Is it a queue in a ration shop? Unlike those who were convicted earlier, those like the ones who carry out blasts like in Delhi, know very well that the people of the country feel outraged about loss of innocent lives and the govt feels helpless. Still he or she thinks his number will be 30 or 40 in the list and that his or her hanging may never come about.
In order to show that we mean business, we should immediately hang the ones caught this time for the Delhi blasts and to balance hang a few more from those in the top of the list. Only then we will be sending a strong message.

The National Investigagion Agency in one of its first assignments has caught one Dr. Malik from Kishtwar in Kashmir. He is alleged to be the kingpin behind the terror act at the Delhi High Court, the one who sent terror e-mails to news agencies just before the blast took place and also withdrew money for distribution from ATMs soon after. The terrorist underwent medical education in Bangladesh and has also recruited a few others from that country for the blast.
Will the authorities swiftly undertake the trial and hand out justice? Quite unlikely. What connection does this terror act committed have with a different one done in some other place and in some other year. Why is that this person should be punished (if at all) only after that criminal if and when gets punished. The common man will never get an answer to this and many other questions. This is pure vote bank politics of the Congress party and they are doing a great disservice to the muslim community. Our muslim brethern are more god fearing and emotionally attached to their family members than anyone else. What they face is acute poverty, education, and employment problems. By portraying as if they are for delaying justice against terrorists who kill innocents in tens and hundreds, the Congress is doing great injustice to them. They also run the risk of facing discrimination because of this.
Six months or one year after, we will not see any progress. The news channels will also broadcast interviews from crying womenfolk that the arrested was innocent, having farex and glaxo at his home when the police took him away. The people of India will continue to shed blood because of mindless violence.

If only state and central governments were serious about following the law in letter and spirit, in carrying out death sentences, these incidents would have been few and far between. There is absolutely no fear for those and other killers that they themselves have to face the noose. That it will be carried out atleast in 50% cases will certainly make them think 100 times before starting out on these heinous crimes.
Will anybody repeal the law on eve-teasing, just because it is unable to curb the eve-teasing menace. Why the same yardstick is not being applied by the pseudos and civiees for capital punishment? Their argument that sentence for life is worse than capital punishment is dubious and even perverse. Why should they opt for some worse punishment if they call death sentence itself as "bad".
