The spat between the two of the senior ministers on the 2G scam literally went upto the door step of the Dona.
When in the USA, Pranab said that Chidambaram was a "Valued" Colleague and that he will not speak "ON LESS he meets the PM" anything on the 2G scam. They might have done their studies in Havard or the London School of Economics. But any finger pointing towards the royal family in the Congress will not be taken lightly as Pranab Mukerjee discovered last week.
On Thursday evening after the mediation by the Dona, the diminutive octogenarian Pranab came out meekly, watching furtively over his shoulders on the 3 big white clad mafiosi following him from behind, waiting to club him on the nod of the Dona. He muttered his already prepared press briefing and left in a hurry. He blamed everything on the junior official, who during a dinner asked whether he could pass on the PEPPAR and Pranab had replied "yes". Little did he know it was the dynamite PAPERS on the 2G scam.
Then Chidambaram announced the "matter was closed". The English news channels immediately followed his instructions and no more milking on the issue from Friday. After all aren't they stooges of the very same corporates who were bestowing "Minister of the Year" on Chidambaram during the peak of his stint as FM.
When even the petrol price cannot be reduced by 50 paise without the permission of the Finance Minister, the public are to believe that everything was done without the then FM's knowledge or permission.
